Meet the Maker...
Hidden deep amongst the wilds of Herefordshire, lies a small studio, complete with three demanding dogs and a printing press called Percy. This is where I will generally be found, surrounded by shelves of charity shop trinkets, half drunk mugs of tea and marvellous views out onto one of England's most rural counties.
Despite an Art tutors advice that “drawing really isn't for you”, I have carried on regardless, turning my scribbles into cards and prints as well as creating illustrations for cookbooks, charity Christmas Cards, books and more besides (sometimes ignoring advice is for the best!).
I also turn my drawings into linocuts, printing cards, original prints, textiles and even Christmas decorations, printing each piece by hand on the aforementioned Percy the printing press in my studio.
My work is Inspired by the surrounding landscapes, and its inhabitants, feathered, furry or otherwise, I try to create work that celebrates it in all its forms, with a touch of added whimsy for good measure.
When not in my studio you will find me (and the dogs) wandering around the fields and woodlands of my family’s farm with my camera at the ready, trying my best to capture the glorious views of Herefordshire.
